To My Vampire
A Poem
Is there a reason
I yearn for the pain?
Does the idea of feeding you
Make more sense to my brain?
My life could mean something,
If my blood were your sustenance
When I want something bad enough,
I have a high pain tolerance.
Does it sound insane to imagine you at night,
Holding me close until I fall asleep?
Sometimes I hope that I never wake up,
But I know I’ll never willingly take that quantum leap.
So, why is it then that when I think of you,
Your kind,
The beast you could so easily be,
I’m so tempted to let you inside.
Death would come for me,
As I lay in your arms,
But would you even question,
Who would it harm?
I know I’d be missed,
That’s why I never act.
If you’d do it for me,
At least I wouldn’t feel so trapped.
