Fazbear Frights: Into the Pit Analysis
It’s important to start off with this disclaimer: I have read the Silver Eyes Trilogy and have read 4 of the Fazbear Frights Books so far, and two of the Pizzaplex Books. I’ve watched all of Game Theory’s videos on FNAF as well as other FNAF theorist across YouTube.
While I’ve been reading, I think I noticed a trend or format to the stories.
Starting Theory: Stories are in order of a male Afton parallel (Usually Michael or William or a mix), an Elizabeth parallel, then a victim
I’m not sure if the order of the stories stay in this order, but I noticed that most books have this type of order to them.
Let’s dive INTO THE PIT
We know the game insinuates that Oswald’s dad is FreddyBro, but this story doesn’t have that Freddy Mask detail
Oswald
Michael or William
No siblings so probably William
He draws the animatronics before knowing who/what they are
Could insinuate that William was the designer while Henry/Edwin were the builders
Jeff’s Pizza being so dull and boring could be an inspiration to William
This could also be a Michael parallel being left at the pizzeria all day while William works
Fictional version of Godzilla v mechagodzilla
Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (1974) ⭐ 6.2 | Action, Family, Fantasy
Oswald is 10 in this story, so if this is a hint Michael is most likely to have been born after 64
Michael because William doesn’t fit the timeline
Interesting note: Oswald reads a book about “kids with secret powers went to a special school to learn how to fight evil” (15) - reminds me of the five children who defeat William in the back room when he’s spring locked.
Oswald also seems to be the only kid so far in these stories with a good family.
We don’t know anyone in the games that would be considered a good family life so this might not mean anything
Ben (Oswald’s friend) could be a parellel to Henry or Edwin, someone who is friends with William but physically or emotionally far away.
Oswald is also jealous of Ben for being at Myrtle Beach
The comments about being cheap or broke because of Dad’s job could be why William is a business tycoon, he doesn’t want to be like his family was
The Pit
Obviously this is where the story goes off the rails, but I do find it interesting that there are two key things here: the yellow bunny and the name Mike
Oswald meets a kid named Mike when he comes out of the ballpit
who wears a shirt with wide red and blue stripes
He is said to be black, but we can still follow him for clues
Interesting line, probably accidental: pg 37 “I feel the Skee-Ball calling me...You’ll murder us.”
Weird moment (38) where tokens magically appear in Oswald’s pockets
This could be a nod to Michael or William having access to tokens easily because William owns Freddy’s
The murders of the “half a dozen” kids in 1985
The yellow rabbit leads Oswald to them and is said to “wanted to see his handiwork”
This can mean two things
either William showed Michael what he had done to the five missing children, making him scared or complicit (making him help)
This could also be a metaphorical future William showing his younger self this is what we will end up doing
Yes the ball pit in this story goes back in time, but given what we know about the other parallel’s it could be that the metaphor is reversed for the sake of story.
The yellow rabbit following Oswald could be the future reaching toward the past, like no matter what he does William will end up a murderer
Could also be that Michael tried to run from the sight and William forced him back
Another potential is the Crying Child, David, being a call back to “remember what you saw”
The possession of Oswald’s dad can follow the same logic
if Oswald is William, his dad being possessed by the rabbit is showing the kind of father he will become
if Oswald is Michael or David, it’s how they view their father after seeing what he did to the kids at Freddy’s
The fact that Mom doesn’t believe Oswald could also be indicative of the boys trying to tell her what they saw and her not believing them
Now, as for the ending, of killing the yellow rabbit, this could indicate that Michael or David were involved with William’s death in Springtrap.
We assume the fifth spirit chasing William is Cassidy or Charlie, but it could just as easily be David, Michael is less likely.
I think the last thing that’s interesting is the bite that Oswald gets.
Biting the hand that feeds type thing, but for Michael and David it would be reversed.
Could also parallel David’s bite from Fredbear
To Be Beautiful
Sarah
The mere fact that the graphic novel shows Eleanor as a Baby-like animatronic and Sarah being replaced with trash metal parts is a clear parallel to Elizabeth Afton
Interesting fact about this story, it is only Sarah and her mom. Considering in FNAF 4 we see Elizabeth’s room is empty but still furnished, it’s possible that william and mrs afton divorced and share custody of the kids in some capacity. It could be that while Elizabeth was supposed to be with mrs afton, she snuck off with William and that’s when she was scooped.
I noticed this in another story, but some of the canon blondes from the games are given brown hair
it could just better differentiate the canon but good to note down
Interesting line, Mom calls Sarah “cupcake” 72
Also, Abby is her best friend’s name????? Insert Incredibles coincidence meme
she also has theories about everything lol
she’s also called a supervillain at one point
Abby says she has a mom, dad, and brother
Interesting because Abby from the movies had that before Mom and Dad disappeared
Sarah buys dye and bleach to turn her hair blonde which would make her look closer to the Elizabeth sprite we’ve seen
but it turns green which while this is realistic for girls who dye their hair wrong, it’s interesting because we know Baby’s eyes change from blue to green when possessed by Elizabeth
85 - she felt like a “ghost”
Interesting that Sarah calls Eleanor a marionette when she first finds her - this might mean that Eleanor could be a version of the Puppet, aligning with Charlie.
We did see in the FNAF 2 movie that Charlie can possess people and it’s possible this is another version of that.
The Fourth Closet also draws parallels between Elizabeth and Charlie very directly so it’s not crazy to see the same crossover with Sarah’s character
Switch out Sarah’s mom for Henry and Charlie is a good parallel
Abby could be Elizabeth and like in the FNAF 2 movie, with Vanessa and Charlie, we’re seeing that Scott wants us to know that Elizabeth and Charlie were friends
There are multiple instances of Eleanor singing Sarah to sleep, but there are instances at the beginning of their interactions where Sarah questions if she’s dreaming stuff up
This could be an early instance of dittophobia - hinted but not spelled out like in that story
If true, could all of the Afton kids have been experimented on with these hallucinations?
Eleanor also doesn’t talk to Sarah during the day
Interesting phrase on 95, “standing guard” made Sarah feel “safer”
Wondering if that what William told Elizabeth Baby was for
We also know that Henry made the (Security) Puppet for Charlie to keep her safe
As she changes, Sarah gets more hungry, I’m wondering if Elizabeth/Charlie could still feel “hunger” in a ghostly way after their deaths and this is a narrative way of saying it
The biggest question is: what’s the deal with the necklace?
I think it might be a metaphor for code or coding
The way that Baby and Elizabeth meld could be on this alternate plane.
The idea that Baby holds some of the MIMIC programming is not canon yet, but it’s a good theory
Fiona seemed to have a coded memory malfunction that made the book reality seem like canon
I think this is a coding feature. Whether it’s to help the soul or the animatronic/MIMIC program - there seems to be an “eight-bit minigame” guiding this
The Eleanor becomes Sarah is very MIMIC like, but we know that there’s a haunting element to all of this (unless that gets wiped)
Count the Ways
This is definitely a victim story. Millie is scooped into Funtime Freddy and is taunted in all the way she could die.
There are still some parallels that we can draw from
Firstly, Millie’s parents are overseas and she’s with her “Kooky” grandfather in his “big, strange Victorian house” 143
instantly I think of Edwin’s house
152 - talking about her parents “famous for their tendacy to start projects with great enthusiasm and then abandon them” - again sounds like Edwin a bit, not fully though
Dylan is an odd character who comes in from “Toledo”
It’s possible he is a stand in for Michael
If William made Michael scope out victims, the weirdos were perfect targets
Dylan’s also the catalyst for Millie’s heartbreak so he could just be a literary device
